 "Netanyahu dials PM Modi, provides update on situation in Israel amid war with Hamas")
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a phone call from Benjamin Netanyahu during which the Israeli leader provided an update on the ongoing situation in his country. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, PM Modi said: “People of India stand firmly with Israel in this difficult hour. India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.”

The telephonic conversation between PM Modi and Netanyahu comes amid the Israel-Hamas war that began Saturday after the Palestinian terrorist group launched a surprise and unprecedented attack on Southern Israel. On Saturday, PM Modi denounced the terrorist attacks in the West Asian country and said India stands in solidarity with Israel. “Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour,” Modi posted on X.

Israel’s military, earlier on Tuesday, said it has regained control of the Gaza-Israel border and said it continues its airstrikes all over the enclosed territory of Gaza. Israel has also ordered the complete cutting of water, electricity and food to the already impoverished and blockaded population of roughly 2.3 million people. The death toll from the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has passed 1,500, with over 900 killed and 2,600 injured in Israel and at least 687 people killed and 3,700 injured in Gaza, according to Palestinian and Israeli health services.
