Islamabad: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif claimed in parliament that “some of the navy staff of commissioned ranks and some outsiders” were involved in the terrorist strike on naval dockyard, media reported on Wednesday. Reuters[/caption] The navy, however, on Tuesday remained tight-lipped on the minister’s claim that the weekend Karachi dockyard attack was an inside job, Dawn online reported. Pakistan Navy on Monday night said that its troops had thwarted an attack on the Karachi dockyard on Saturday in which one of its soldier lost his life while defending the facility. Two militants were killed and four were apprehended. Some of the attackers were said to be in navy uniforms, the report said. The attack on the naval facility took place on Saturday but it was kept under wraps due to some strategic reasons, a spokesperson for the navy said. IANS
