Elon Musk, who was once a close ally and advisor to Donald Trump, is now fiercely criticising the US president’s massive “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” calling it insane and a huge burden on taxpayers.

Musk accused Republicans of abandoning fiscal conservatives and said there should be a new party that “actually cares about the people.”

He also vowed to launch a new “America Party” if the bill becomes law. Meanwhile, the Senate is engaged in a marathon series of votes as Republicans push to pass this key piece of legislation for Trump’s second term.

“It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS, that we live in a one-party country — the PORKY PIG PARTY!! Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people,” Musk posted on X.

Called “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” the legislation is part of President Trump’s plans for his second term. It proposes increased spending on defence, energy production, and border security, while cutting budgets for nutrition and healthcare programmes. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the bill would add nearly $3.3 trillion to the national deficit over the next ten years.

Elon Musk didn’t stop at criticising the bill itself. He also took aim at prominent Republican lawmakers, including House Freedom Caucus Chairman Rep. Andy Harris.

“How can you call yourself the Freedom Caucus if you vote for a DEBT SLAVERY bill with the biggest debt ceiling increase in history?” Musk wrote on social media.

He went on to warn that voters would hold lawmakers accountable. “Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame!” Musk said. “And they will lose their primary next year if it’s the last thing I do on this Earth.”
