According to Michael Rubin, a former Pentagon analyst, US President Donald Trump “is wrong in targeting India” because of it’s trading ties with Russia.
In an interview, the former Pentagon official and Middle East specialist noted that Trump’s America buys various significant minerals from Russia, including uranium hexafluoride.
Rubin told ANI that Trump was wrong to blame India for importing oil from Moscow.
He pointed out the irony of Trump’s 50% tariffs, stating that “US purchases Uranium hexafluoride and other strategic minerals from Russia…”
He went on to say that while the US “talks about gas from Azerbaijan as optimal,” the majority of US gas supply “is Russian or Iranian, and Americans are purchasing it…
He emphasised that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s position against Trump for India’s rights “be the episode that historians remember where the US truly learnt that you cannot kick India around.”
