McCarthy behind eviction of Nancy Pelosi from her Capitol office so he could move into it

Pelosi has been evicted from her private office in the Capitol by the interim House Speaker following the ousting of Kevin McCarthy. The order to vacate her Capitol hideaway by Wednesday was served by the interim House Speaker Patrick McHenry. The order by McHenry, who is a close ally to McCarthy, is one of his first acts after assuming the post. Pelosi was notified about the eviction via email which read, “Please vacate the space tomorrow, the room will be re-keyed.” Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi, 83, moved out of her office on Tuesday, a day before the deadline, with the help of staff of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, her spokesperson said.
