Mandela back in hospital for scheduled medical checkup

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Former South African President Nelson Mandela was admitted to hospital on Saturday for a scheduled medical check-up, the office of the presidency said.

“Doctors are conducting tests and have thus far indicated that there is no reason for any alarm,” the presidency said in a statement, adding he had been taken to a hospital in Pretoria.
