Jets in Boston: Early optimism from Team Romney

An unusually large number of private Gulfstream corporate jets whooshed into Boston’s Logan International Airport on Tuesday hours before Mitt Romney’s post-election party at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. “I feel like we put it all on the field. We left nothing in the locker room. We fought to the very end, and I think that’s why we’ll be successful,” Romney told reporters aboard his plane as he flew from Pittsburgh to Boston. According to some political pundits, the evangelical voters who seemingly came from nowhere in 2004 to re-elect George W Bush and then essentially sat out the 2008 election are back in a big way. Romney’s biggest financial backers attended a pre-party reception. Now more pleb Republican supporters , donors, and reporters are converging on the Boston Convention Center, where the public Romney election night event will take place. The party is expected to attract 5,000 supporters and journalists. Hotels across Boston are at over 90 percent booked out because of the Republican election party. No one is paying much attention to voting trends in 42 of 50 American states as they are deemed “safe” and can be divvied up between Republican Red states and Democratic Blue states. All eyes are on the eight battleground states of Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Wisconsin, Colorado, Iowa, Nevada, and New Hampshire. “Experts say the entire 2012 election could come down to just eight states. The states are: confusion, dismay, depression, apathy, shock, disbelief, despair, and anxiety.
