‘It won’t work’: Israel debunks ‘fake news’ about ‘protest note’ to India, slams ‘haters’

The Israeli Embassy in India, taking dig at “haters” of Israel-India friendship, strongly denied issuing any official note to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) regarding an Indian Army officer allegedly sexually assaulting an Israeli soldier during a joint military exercise in Jammu, calling the circulated allegation “fake news.”

In a firm statement, the embassy emphasised the strong relationship between India and Israel, stating that those spreading false information would not weaken the bond between the two countries.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Israeli Embassy in India said, “Unbelievable! The bond between Israel and India is so solid, haters resort to fake news to try to harm it. It won’t work."

Earlier, on 24 April, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the phone to condemn the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared details of the call on X.

During the conversation, PM Modi described the attack as barbaric and said India is fully committed to punishing those responsible and their supporters.

“PM @netanyahu of Israel called PM @narendramodi and strongly condemned the terror attack on Indian soil. He expressed solidarity with the people of India and the families of the victims,” Jaiswal posted. “PM Modi shared the barbaric nature of the cross-border terrorist attack and reiterated India’s firm resolve to bring the perpetrators and their supporters to justice.”
