Israel has taken back control over all communities infiltrated by Hamas terrorists, said Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) spokesperson. “Control has been achieved in all the communities,” IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari was quoted as saying by Haaretz.com. However, “there may still be terrorists in the area,” he cautioned. There were reports of fresh Hamas infiltration into southern Israel overnight. To deal with the continuing infiltration “tanks and aircraft will secure the breaches in the border.” Meanwhile, the Israeli army " has almost completed evacuating Gaza border residents." He added the town of Sderot, one of the major targets in the Hamas attack, will not be evacuated yet. Hagari added that 300,000 army reservists have been called up making it the “biggest, fastest ever” draft in Israel’s history. Additionally, he confirmed that 4,400 rockets have been fired from Gaza into Israel. Hamas Saturday launched a surprise offensive on Israel. Hundreds of Hamas terrorists infiltrated southern Israel and raided communities along the Gaza border. The attack saw widespread murder and abduction of Israeli citizens, soldiers, especially women. So far 700 have been reportedly killed in Israel, with over 2000 left wounded and hundreds others in Hamas captivity. Israeli retaliatory attacks on Hamas in Gaza have also led to burgeoning civilian deaths. So far, nearly 500 have been killed and thousands are left injured.
