The Israel Defence Force (IDF) on Wednesday said that it is carrying out strikes in Lebanon as a response to anti-tank rockets fired from Lebanon. The Israeli military said it was attacking Lebanon after one of its northern positions was targeted with anti-tank fire. According to the Times of Israel, the Hezbollah terror group has claimed responsibility anti-tank guided missile attack on an Israeli army post on the Lebanon border.

The attack took place near the Israeli town of Arab al-Aramshe, opposite the Lebanese village of Dhayra. A Lebanese security source said the powerful armed group Hezbollah fired two precision missiles into Israel, which the group considers its sworn enemy. In a statement, Hezbollah said that the attack was in response to the death of three of its members in Israeli strikes on Monday. In a post shared on X, IDF stated, “Dozens of Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck over 200 targets in the Al-Furqan neighbourhood–a terrorist hotspot from which Hamas devises and executes their attacks.
