Israel claims to kills to kill terrorists who infiltrated from Lebanon

As Israel’s forces fought Palestinian Hamas terrorists in Gaza, Israeli soldiers supported by helicopters on Monday killed at least two gunmen who crossed the border from Lebanon, according to the military. This was a sign of a potential new front emerging. A reporter for Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV reported hearing gunfire and artillery bombardment at the southern border of Lebanon with Israel, close to the town of Dhayra, in a post on social media. A group of males approached the border, one of them fired at an Israeli observation post, according to a security source and a local source. According to a Hezbollah official, the organisation has not launched any operations into Israel. Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad representatives also refuted involvement. The Israeli military said in a statement that its forces “killed a number of armed suspects who infiltrated into Israeli territory from Lebanese territory”. The number of terrorists killed was not revealed. The message further stated that military helicopters “are currently striking in the area”. According to Israel’s Army Radio, the area was close to Adamit and across from the border villages of Aalma El Chaeb and Zahajra in Lebanon. An incident near the southern border was reported to the force, but no further information was available, according to a representative for the U.N. peacekeeping operation in Lebanon.
