Israel has killed over 60 senior and mid-level Hamas leaders since the October 7 attack, Israel Defence Military (IDF) spokesperson Jonathan Conricus has said. “The mission is to dismantle each Hamas stronghold that is buried underground in bunkers We’re making solid progress according to plan,” Conricus told Sky News.
Refreshing questions actually pertaining to the fighting and situation on the ground. We're making solid progress according to plan, and we intend to keep at it until we dismantle Hamas and return the hostages. With @ljayes on @SkyNews pic.twitter.com/Zdg8yW2wiT

He added, “So far we have been able to get our hands on at least 60 mid-level and senior-level Hamas commanders. Now we are focussing on combatant commanders and those who have direct influence on combat operations on the ground.” When asked about reports of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar hiding in his bunker, Conricus said, “The directive is to kill or capture him (Sinwar) and all of the other Hamas leaders who planned, facilitated and executed the massacre of October 7 on Israel. All of them are dead men walking.” The IDF spokesperson also noted that for the past four days Israel has opened special humanitarian corridors between 10 am and 2 pm to allow Palestinian civilians to evacuate on foot. Meanwhile on Wednesday, air strikes on the Gaza Strip killed a Hamas weapons maker and several fighters, the Israeli military said on Wednesday, as its air and ground offensive targeted the militants’ tunnel network beneath the besieged Palestinian enclave.
Gaza City, the Hamas militant group’s main stronghold in the territory, is encircled by Israeli forces. The military said troops have advanced to the heart of the densely-populated city while Hamas says its fighters have inflicted heavy losses.
The Israeli military said on Wednesday two separate strikes eliminated a leading Hamas armourer, Mahsein Abu Zina, and fighters engaged in anti-tank or ground-to-ground rocket fire.
