The Israeli military on Sunday said it will begin daily “tactical pauses” in parts of Gaza to ease humanitarian aid delivery amid growing global concerns over civilian suffering.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it will halt operations every day from 10 am to 8 pm in three areas — Al-Mawasi, Deir al-Balah, and Gaza City, starting July 27. Though the army claims it is not actively operating in these zones, recent weeks have seen strikes and clashes in each.
The IDF also announced the creation of “secure routes” for aid movement and civilian passage, which will remain open from 6 am to 11 pm daily.
In accordance with directives from the political echelon, and as part of the IDF’s ongoing effort, led by COGAT, to increase the scale of humanitarian aid entering Gaza, a local tactical pause in military activity will take place for humanitarian purposes from 10:00 to 20:00,… pic.twitter.com/y7gTmtfidj

These steps, coordinated with the UN and international agencies, aim to improve access for humanitarian groups while the broader military campaign continues elsewhere in Gaza.
“The IDF will continue offensive operations against terror groups while supporting humanitarian efforts,” the military said, adding it is ready to expand the scope of these pauses if needed.
