Islamic State throws 'gay men' off tower, stone 'adulterous' woman to death

The Islamic State has reportedly carried out multiple public executions that have included throwing men accused of being gay off towers, stoning a woman accused of adultery and crucifying at least 17 young men- all in a two-day time frame. [caption id=“attachment_1568615” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Representational Image. AFP](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Iraq_SunniInsurgents_AFP.jpg) Representational Image. AFP[/caption] The graphic images released by the terrorist outfit are shocking even going by Islamic State’s standard. They include horrifying images of two blindfolded men being hauled to the top of a high tower before being thrown to their deaths, one at a time, as a large crowd watches from below. The Islamic State’s social media outlets captioned it “the Muslims come to watch the application of the law.” According to the Independent, the men were accused of “engaging in homosexual activities”, a crime that deserves the strictest of punishments according to the Islamic State’s strict interpretation of Sharia law. However, as the News Australia points out, same-sex intercourse is legal in 22 nations with a Muslim majority, including Albania, Bahrain, Jordan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chad and Turkey. However, these were not the only executions to take place in Mosul, which also saw around 17 men were crucified before being shot in the head in a village square and a woman stoned to death. According to Syrian news agency SANA, 11 of the 17 men had been charged with apostasy and fighting against ISIS during a battle in the province of Deir Ezzor in Syria. Reports emerging ffrom the area suggest the indignities did not stop there. After they were shot dead, their bodies were mutilated.

The final two photos show the burqa clad woman being stoned to death by a horde of Islamic State militants, hurling large rocks at the woman.

The photo published in the Daily Mail, shows a woman lying on the ground surrounded by a pile of rocks and her bright red socks are still visible. Going by the images, an old piece of blue tarpaulin is later used to cover the dead woman’s body as the militants disperse from the hideous scene.
