Iran has moved its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei to a secure location inside the country after the news of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s death was confirmed by the IDF on Saturday.

Sources told Reuters that Khamenei has been transferred to an unknown location with heightened security and that Iran is in constant touch with Hezbollah and its other proxies to determine the next step after Israel’s announcement.

IDF  on Saturday posted “Hassan Nasrallah will no longer be able to terrorise the world” on X, putting an end to speculation over the Hezbollah leader’s whereabouts following overnight strikes in Lebanon.

“On the one hand, the killing of defenseless civilians in Lebanon, has once again revealed the savage nature of the rabid Zionists to everyone. On the other hand, it has proven how shortsighted and insane the policies of the leaders of the occupying regime are,” Khamenei said in a statement on X.

Israel on Friday claimed that it struck Hezbollah HQ in Lebanon, killing Nasrallah and other top commanders of the Iran-backed group. However, Hezbollah said that their leader had not died and was shifted to a safer location.
Following this Khamenei convened an emergency session of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.Earlier this week, Khamenei, while slamming Israel over striking Hezbollah in Lebanon, said that the terrorist group will never be weakened even after the deaths of its commanders.Meanwhile, the Israeli military said on Saturday it had struck more than 140 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon since the previous night.

“Since last night, the IDF (military) struck over 140 Hezbollah terror targets, including launchers aimed at Israeli civilians, buildings in which weapons were stored, strategic weaponry, weapons production facilities, and additional terrorist infrastructure sites, some embedded underneath residential buildings in the area of Beirut,” the military said in a statement.

However, there has not been an official confirmation from Hezbollah’s end about its leader’s fate after IDF’s announcement.
