As the US, Israel, and Iran war nears the one-month mark, the conflict continues to intensify with ongoing strikes, conflicting claims over diplomacy, and growing economic impact across the region.

US President Donald Trump has again said talks are under way with Iran, after Tehran dismissed reports of negotiations as “fake news” aimed at influencing financial and oil markets. Despite discussion of a possible deal, US and Israeli strikes have continued across Iran, including an attack in southern Tehran that killed at least 12 people and injured 28 others.

At the same time, Iran and Hezbollah launched a new wave of missile attacks on Israel, targeting Tel Aviv and northern regions, leaving at least one person dead and more than a dozen wounded. Israel has also intensified its bombing campaign in southern Lebanon after outlining plans to occupy areas up to the Litani River, with at least 33 people reported killed in the past day.

The United Arab Emirates said a Moroccan civilian working with its armed forces in Bahrain was killed in an Iranian attack, while several soldiers were also injured. Meanwhile, QatarEnergy has declared force majeure on LNG contracts, including those with customers in Italy, Belgium, South Korea and China.

Iran Israel War Live Updates: Netanyahu seeks to avoid snap vote as Iran war gives no boost in polls

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is racing to pass a state budget and stave off early elections he would likely lose, with the war in Iran so far doing little to improve his standing in the polls.

In the war’s first days, Netanyahu’s camp saw a chance for his right-wing coalition to capitalize on the opening salvo that killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei by holding elections ahead of an expected October date, a source familiar with Netanyahu’s political strategy said.

One way to force snap elections would be to let parliament fail to pass the budget by March 31, which under Israeli law would trigger a vote within 90 days. As U.S.-Israeli strikes killed a host of top Iranian figures, some of Netanyahu’s confidants publicly floated the idea of a June vote.

But nearly four weeks into a war that has so far failed to achieve a stated objective of toppling Iran’s clerical rulers, Israel’s longest-serving prime minister is looking to stave off early elections, three members of his government told Reuters.

That effort to avoid an early contest has included allocating funds to political allies to secure a majority vote for the budget in parliament, and rushing it through the chamber’s Finance Committee to meet next week’s deadline.

Iran Israel War Live Updates: Israel says it struck Iranian naval research centre in Isfahan

The Israeli military said it targeted the Iranian regime’s Underwater Research Centre in Isfahan as part of its latest strikes, guided by Israeli navy intelligence. It said the facility is the only site in Iran responsible for the design and development of submarines and support systems for the navy and also produces various types of unmanned vessels.

US President Donald Trump sent a peace plan to Iran as he voiced optimism Tuesday at ending nearly a month of a war, with Tehran announcing that it will let “non-hostile” oil vessels go through the crucial Strait of Hormuz.

The tentative signs of a diplomatic solution came despite new violence, with an Iranian missile causing injuries in Israel which in turn pressed on multiple fronts and vowed to seize control of a strip of southern Lebanon.

Trump, whose pronouncements in recent days have swung wildly from vowing massive attacks on Iran to declaring the nearly month-long war virtually over, said the United States was “in negotiations right now” with Iran – which has not confirmed any formal talks.
