Officials said that bodies have been spotted near site where the AirAsia QZ8501 plane disappeared. Indonesian officials coming off a helicopter in Pangkalan Bun say they spotted several bodies floating in waters near where the missing AirAsia flight was last seen. The bodies were brought to an Indonesian navy ship. Indonesia’s director general of civil aviation confirmed to AFP that the debris spotted on Tuesday during an aerial search for AirAsia flight QZ8501 is from the missing plane. “For the time being it can be confirmed that it’s the AirAsia plane and the transport minister will depart soon to Pangkalan Bun,” Djoko Murjatmodjo said. The sightings were made at around 11.00 Indonesia time, Wibowo said, after searching for around five hours. The suspected remains and debris were seen in the Karimata Strait, west of the Indonesian part of Borneo.
