Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina took a defiant stance as Dhaka prepares to hear the final verdict of its International Crimes Tribunal on the crime against humanity case against her. In an audio message to her supporters, Hasina maintained that all allegations and charges against her are “false” and that “she is still alive”.

The former Bangladeshi premier went on to accuse the country’s current Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus of “destroying the country” as she pledged to bring “criminals to justice”. She also accused Bangladesh’s current regime of dismantling her party, Awami League, insisting that it will not be an easy task.

“It is not so easy, Awami League has come up from the grassroots, not from the pocket of some usurper of power,” the 78-year-old said. “They have given us faith. People will show this corrupt, militant, and murderer Yunus and his aides how Bangladesh can turn around; the people will do justice,” she added.

Hasina went on to assure her supporters that she will continue with her fight against those she called “radicals”. “I am alive, I will stay alive, I will work for the welfare of people again, and I will do justice on Bangladesh’s soil.” Accusing Yunus of unlawfully removing an elected government, she said the constitution makes such actions punishable. “Yunus has done exactly that through his meticulous designs,” she said.

Bangladesh will be free of Yunus and radicals

In the audio message, Hasina described the current Bangladeshi regime as “criminals” and vowed to bring them to justice. She said that she is aware of the trials and insisted that all charges against her are false. “We agree to the Student’s demands, even then, the protest continued. They wanted to destroy the country. Yunus and NCP are killing Awami League workers,” she exclaimed.

She also condemned the Gopalgunj violence, accusing the Bangladeshi interim chief of ordering the army to kill. “Murderers and hooligans are considered as July Heroes,” she said. “I gave treatment and money to those injured during the July uprising. I even launched a judicial inquiry into it. Why did Yunus not let the Judicial inquiry complete its work?” she added.

She insisted that “Allah gave me life, Allah will take it away.” “They can’t stop me from liberating Bangladesh with these allegations. I will keep on working for my countrymen. Don’t worry. I have seen many such allegations and cases in my life. It’s all about the time. I know you are struggling because of a lack of work. We will take revenge for all this torture. I still have faith,” she concluded.

US plans to designate Cartel de los Soles as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) from November 24, 2025.
