Israel will once again open a corridor to allow civilians in northern Gaza escape south, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Arabic-language Spokesman said in a post on Monday. The announcement was made by Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee, IDF’s Arabic-language Spokesman in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He said Israel will open Salah-al-Din Street for southward traffic between 10 am and 2 pm (Israel’s local time). “For your safety, take this next opportunity to move south beyond Wadi Gaza,” Adraee said, adding, “If you care about yourself and your loved ones, head south according to our instructions. Rest assured that Hamas leaders have already taken care of defending themselves.”

من أجل… pic.twitter.com/H7BpiUqyTf
Reiterating the Israeli military’s long-standing insistence that civilians move south, IDF further said although Hamas has been harming the ongoing humanitarian efforts for Gazans and using them as human shields, the IDF has been once again allowing passage of civilians on the Salah al-Din Road. The humanitarian corridor was opened on Sunday for several hours, despite coming under attack by Hamas on Saturday. Some 800,000 people are thought to have fled south so far, though many have insisted on staying in the enclave’s north, noting humanitarian woes and airstrikes taking place in the south as well.
