Washington: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will make her much-awaited appearance in front of key Congressional committees today to testify on terror attack at the US Consulate in Benghazi last September that killed three Americans including its Ambassador to Libya. “Today, both on the Senate side and on the House side, members of Congress will have a chance to hear what the Secretary has to say but also to ask her any remaining questions that they have on this matter,” State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland said. [caption id=“attachment_598688” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Reuters](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Hillary-Clinton_Reuters.jpg) Reuters[/caption] The US Consulate in Benghazi was attacked in September 2012 resulting in the death of American envoy and three others. Clinton during her appearance would focus not only on the Accountability Review Board but on all of the work that the State department has done already to implement its report and gave a status on that and an update on the work that remains. “You’ll recall that she pledged not only to accept all 29 of the recommendations but to have the implementation of those recommendations well under way before her successor took over, so I think she’ll want to give a status on that,” Nuland said. The earlier Congressional appearance of Clinton had to be postponed due to her month-long illness in December, during which she was briefly hospitalized for treatment of blood clot in her head. “She has been receiving briefings on the implementation work under way. She’s been overseeing that work. She’s been pushing it along. She’s had a chance to talk to a lot of the people in the department who’ve been working on this during the time that she was out, get caught up and push it forward herself,” Nuland said. PTI
