The head of Lebanon-based terror group Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, met top officials from Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) on Wednesday. According to a statement by Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran, said that Nasrallah met Saleh Al-Arouri, a deputy head of Hamas and the secretary general of Palestinian Islamic Jihad Ziad Nakhla. The statement, however, did not mention where the meeting took place. “An assessment was made of…what the parties of the resistance axis must do at this sensitive stage to achieve a real victory for the resistance in Gaza and Palestine and to stop the treacherous and brutal aggression against our people,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Israel Defence Forces (IDF) spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari earlier today said that Iran is directly involved in facilitating Hamas in orchestrating the October 7 attacks against Israel. “Iran directly aided Hamas before the war, with training, supplying weapons, money, and technological know-how,” Hagari said in a press conference. “Even now, Iranian aid to Hamas in the form of intelligence and online incitement against the State of Israel continues,” he added. Meanwhile, the US has joined Gulf nations including Saudi Arabia and Qatar to target a “secret” Hamas portfolio that is believed to be valued at least hundreds of millions of dollars. US officials have stepped up efforts to pinpoint the Hamas portfolio along with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations.
