Both runways at London’s Heathrow airport were shut after a British Airlines plane had to make an emergency landing due to a technical fault, BBC News reported. The BBC report carried a statement by BA which said, “The BA762, Heathrow to Oslo service, returned back to Heathrow shortly after take-off due to a technical fault.” [caption id=“attachment_812455” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Picture from @JDsheehy via Twitter[/caption] It said the plane was carrying 75 customers who were safely evacuated. Meanwhile the London Fire Brigade tweeted that there was a fire on the plane which had been put out with no injuries caused to passengers. https://twitter.com/LondonFire/status/337846312689102848 Sky News reported that the Northern runway had been reopened since the incident, but the Southern runway remained closed. British Airways added that a “full investigation” into the incident involving an Airbus A319 would be conducted.
