A new video released on Wednesday shows the abduction of seven Israeli women soldiers by Hamas terrorists during the October 7 attack.

After releasing the video, the families of the hostages called upon the Israeli leaders to reach a deal for their release. Parent of one of the hostages said the purpose of the release was to “wake up” Israeli leaders so they would work for the release of hostages.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas and allied terrorist groups invaded Israel and swept across the southern part of the country where they overpowered several military outposts, bases, and attacked several civilian communities. While they killed around 1,400 people, they also took more than 250 hostages. Most of the hostages are still held in captivity in Gaza Strip.

In recent weeks, it appeared that a deal for the ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages was imminent, but the talks failed and no deal was reached.

Video shows soldiers’ abduction Nahal Oz base

The video of Israeli women soldiers being abducted by Hamas was shot at Nahal Oz military base. More than 50 soldiers were killed in the base.

The video was released by The Hostages and Missing Families Forum, a campaign group dedicated to secure the release of Israeli hostages. The footage has been taken from the body cameras worn by Hamas terrorists.

The Jerusalem Post reported that five of the soldiers were still alive. They have been identified as Liri Albag, Karina Ariev, Agam Berger, Daniela Gilboa, and Naama Levy. One of the hostages, Ori Megidish, was rescued by the Israeli military in October and another, Noa Marciano, was killed in captivity, according to a paper.

In the video, the hostages are seen pushed to the wall and being bound by Hamas terrorists. They are also visibly bruised in the footage.

In the video, Hamas terrorists are seen yelling at the hostages. In one segment, one of them is seen shouting: “Our brothers died because of you. We will shoot you all.”

In another segment, one of the terrorists points at the women and described them as “women who can get pregnant”.

“These are the Zionists…You are very beautiful,” the terrorist is seen saying, as per the translation in the video.

‘Footage should be shown until some wakes up’

Eli, the father of a hostage in the video, said the footage featuring his daughter Liri Albag and others should be screened “until somebody wakes up”.

“I want you to broadcast this footage every day at the start of the news,” said Eli to Channel 12.

In a separate statement, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum said: “The disturbing video has been the reality of Agam, Daniella, Liri, Naama, Karina, and 123 other hostages for 229 days. The video is a damning testament to the nation’s failure to bring home the hostages, who have been forsaken for 229 days…The Israeli government must not waste even one more moment — it must return to the negotiating table today!”

Albag’s sister Shay said it was important to publish the footage so that “the entire world sees, these are animals, and it will take time to digest it”.
