Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has said that the first batch of hostages is expected to be released on Sunday as planned.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Friday said that the deal with Hamas would be implemented as per the stated timeline despite bureaucratic delays, according to The Times of Israel.
The newspaper reported that the Israeli Security Cabinet is currently holding a vote on the deal and the full Cabinet would hold a vote tomorrow evening.
Once the full Cabinet clears the deal and Supreme Court hears any petitions filed against the deal, the hostages would be released as planned on Sunday, the newspaper quoted the PMO as saying.
This is a developing story.
