“Hamas is stealing fuel from civilians in Gaza and storing under Shifa hospital,” Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed, as it shared a conversation with an official in the Healthcare System in Gaza. The healthcare official further confirmed that Hamas has been using fuel for terror. In the call recording released by IDF, the hospital official could be heard saying, “Hamas’ fuel reserves of over half a million litres are under Shifa Hospital.” The conversation confirmed that Hamas controls the energy and fuel resources in Gaza Strip and chooses to direct them for terrorism. The IDF said if fuel is allowed to enter the Gaza Strip, Hamas would seize those resources.

The audio of official in Healthcare System in Gaza was released just a couple of days after Israeli forces released an intercepted call which shed light on how Hamas was stealing fuel from hospitals in Gaza. The revelation once again brought to the fore the Palestinian terrorist group’s exploitation of humanitarian resources in the region. The conversation released on Wednesday (November 1) was between a commander from Hamas’ Western Jabaliya Battalion, a Gazan resident, and the director of the Indonesian Hospital. It was intercepted by Israeli Military Intelligence. In the intercepted phone call, the Hamas commander had repeatedly hinted at the terror group taking fuel from the hospital’s stocks, justifying it by stating they are “working as a government for the sake of the country.”

About two weeks ago, United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) had said Hamas authorities in Gaza stole fuel and medical supplies meant for refugees from its premises in Gaza City.
