Donald Trump on Thursday accepted his nomination by the Republicans for the President of the United States and exuded confidence that he will win in an “incredible victory” at the 2024 US presidential election scheduled for November 5.

Addressing the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee on its concluding day on Thursday, Trump said: “Tonight, with faith and devotion, I proudly accept your nomination for President of the United States."

“Four months from now, we will have an incredible victory,” Trump said and soon vowed to “be president for all of America, not half of America”.

Recalling the assassination attempt on him by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks on July 13 during his campaign in Pennsylvania, Trump said there was blood pouring everywhere, and yet, in a certain way “I felt very safe, because I had God on my side”.

Mentioning further about the day, Trump said: “If I had not moved my head at the very last instant, the assassin’s bullet would have perfectly hit its mark, and I would not be with you tonight."

“I stand before you in this arena only by the grace of almighty God. Many people say it was a providential moment,” he further said.

The shooter fired six rounds from his AR-15 during Trump’s campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania as he attempted to assassinate the Republican presidential candidate on July 13.

One of the bullets “pierced the upper part" of Trump’s right ear. He was rushed to a safer place by the security after the gunshots were heard in the rally.

“I am not supposed to be here tonight,” Trump said, adding: “We have heard some references to divine intervention at this week’s convention when speakers have been discussing the shooting, and Trump is touching on a similar theme here,” Trump said.

“Together, we will launch a new era of safety, prosperity and freedom for citizens of every race, religion, colour and creed," Trump said.

“The discord and division in our society must be healed, we must heal it quickly," he added.

The four-day RNC began on Monday with a vote to confirm Trump as the party’s nominee after he won almost every state’s primary contest.

Also, this week Trump named Senator JD Vance of Ohio as his running mate and his Vice President nominee for the US elections 2024.
