‘Great to see Babis back’: Trump congratulates Czech PM after taking charge

US President Donald Trump congratulated Czech PM Andrej Babis after taking the charge. Trump said it is great to see Babis appointed as the Prime Minister and expects ‘incredible things’ from him.

After Andrej Babis took charge as the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, US President Donald Trump congratulated him by taking to his Truth Social platform. Trump said it is great to see Babis appointed as the Prime Minister and expects “incredible things” from the fellow Billionaire and an active supporter.  

Babis’s government was sworn in on Monday after forming an alliance with two euroskeptic right-wing parties.

“It is great to see Andrej Babis appointed again as Prime Minister of the Czech Republic,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

“Together, we will once again achieve Great Success on Defense, Energy, and Illegal Immigration – Just as we have done during our First Terms in Office,” he added.

Babis is considered a supporter of US President Donald Trump. During his election campaign, Babis vowed to curb aid to Ukraine in the Russian invasion of Ukraine from 2022.    

The 71-year-old governed as an EU and NATO member of 10.9 million people from 2017 to 2021. Trump and Babis both previously led their NATO-member countries.  

“I promise all citizens of the Czech Republic to fight for their interests at home and abroad,” said Babis, who has described himself as “Trumpist” in the past.

Expect incredible things

“Andrej knows how to get Deals done, and I expected incredible things from him, including on F-35s,” Trump said, referring to the US-made stealth fighter jet.
