On 6 March, Google is celebrating the 91st birthday of Nobel Laureate

Google Doodle celebrates 91st birth anniversary of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Google Doodle.[/caption] Google remembers Marquez with a vibrant and a colourful doodle. It has a South American appeal to it. The doodle seems to be a representation of Maconda, a fictional city in his book A Hundred Years of Solitude. Amidst the vibrant flora and fauna, are a man and a woman in typical Latin American attires. They can be seen holding hands. Considering that Marquez’ works reflected magic realism, this doodle shows a hot and humid city from A Hundred Years of Solitude which has golden fish which dazzle the eyes, then there are yellow butterflies. , in the doodle, there is a train chugging which is known to run once in a blue moon. Marquez had won the Nobel Prize for A Hundred Years of Solitude. The doodle seems to be representing the world Marquez reflects in his works. He is known for both fictional and non-fictional work. Amongst non fictional he has written News of a Kidnapping. Garcia Marquez was born in Aracataca in Colombia
. He still remains to be one of the significant authors of the twentieth century. He has written over 25 books. Affectionately known as Gabo, apart from being a writer, he was also known for his political activism.
