A 15-year-old student was killed and three others were injured on Wednesday in a stabbing attack in a school in France’s Nantes city.
The police said that a student went on a stabbing spree in the school and attacked four persons. He was later arrested.
The Associated Press reported the police as saying that the attack occurred at Notre-Dame-de-Toutes-Aides High School in Doulon, near Nantes, in western France.
As the student attacked others, the teachers subdued them and he was later arrested by the police, according to the report.
The police did not identify the student by name. There was also no update about the motive of the attack.
Unlike the United States, fatal attacks in French schools are statistically rare. However, there have been some incidents in recent years, such as the beheading of a teacher by a student over purported disrespect of Prophet Mohammed.
