Faith bites? Self-proclaimed ‘prophet’ picks fight with lions, suffers serious damage to his buttocks

Alec Ndiwane, a self-proclaimed "prophet" of the Zion Christian Church recently picked up a fight in South Africa's Kruger National Park after he "went into a trance and started speaking in tongues".

Only, he didn't pick on someone his own size (or species).

Ndiwane who was with his fellow church members in the national park, where they were watching animals, when he is believed (by his church members) to have entered into a trance and started to speak in tongues. Ndiwane proceeded to open the car door and went charging towards the lions, reports GhanaWeb.

Soon after, and probably after realising the gravity of the situation he got himself into, he turned around and started running back from them, reports Raw Story. The ranger fired his gun into the air to scare the lions off, but it was too late.

The lions unfortunately got to Ndiwane's buttocks and caused some serious injuries, reports The Week. He was rushed to a hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

“I do not know what came over me," Opposing Views reports Ndiwane saying. "I thought the Lord wanted to use me to show his power over animals. Is it not we were given dominion over all creatures of the earth?"

No Sir, sadly I don't think we were, but our readers thank you for testing that theory so they don't have to.
