Doge chief Elon Musk’s father Errol Musk thinks his son is “not cut out for politics” as the tech billionaire makes place in the lanes of the White House and grows close to US President Donald Trump who is nothing short of praise for him.
Talking to Al Arabiya News, Errol said, “Elon is not cut out for politics. Politics is where you have to deal with everyone, from the very incredibly clever to the very somewhat not clever, the highly sophisticated to the very unsophisticated. If you can’t do that, don’t get into politics.”
Musk senior said that his son is not accustomed to connecting with people on the ground level as a president is required to and is only used to working with “top-tier” people. The Tesla CEO’s popularity has risen exponentially since Trump took office for the second time. The president has kept Musk close during important meetings and hung out with him in informal events. His proximity with the US President has given rise to speculations that he might run for the top post in the future. However, his birthplace will stop him from doing so.
On Doge
Talking about his son’s role as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, Erron said, “They found that the rottenness was so enormous that the only solution was to completely close down the entire department immediately. The problem wasn’t just bad employees; it was an entire system of waste.”
Meanwhile, last week, the White House said Musk is not technically part of Doge and described him as an adviser rather than the administrator in charge of day-to-day operations.
‘Elon is a terrible speaker’
Last month, the Tesla CEO sparked controversy after he allegedly gestured the Nazi salute at Trump’s inauguration ceremony.
Musk’s father rejected the claims as “nonsense”, saying that Elon’s actions are often misunderstood.
“Elon is a terrible public speaker. He has a lot to learn. We all do…Knowing him as well as I do, I mean, I know him very well, that he was struggling to get through his little speech as fast as possible and to try and look as charming as possible as he could. But he’s struggled,” he said.
