A video from Tuesday’s two-hour-and-eighteen-minute Cabinet meeting has surfaced online, showing US President Donald Trump periodically closing his eyes and appearing noticeably lethargic as senior officials delivered their remarks. The 79-year-old Republican leader is seen adjusting himself in his chair repeatedly, his eyelids lowering markedly while cabinet ministers speak.

At the meeting, Trump alternated between leaning back in his chair, slouching forward, twiddling his thumbs and sitting completely still with his eyes shut. The moments were brief but noticeable, according to reporters present.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio was the final speaker, using his remarks to praise what he described as Trump’s “transformational” foreign policy. As Rubio spoke, Trump sat beside him with his eyes closed and his shoulders lowered before abruptly straightening up midway through the comments.

The footage drew notice amid mounting questions over Trump’s stamina and alertness, following similar instances in recent months, including one during an Oval Office briefing in November that sparked criticism and widespread memes.

The White House releases details of recent MRI

The White House issued a medical summary after Trump underwent an MRI on 1 December. His physician, Sean Barbabella, said scans of his heart and abdomen showed no abnormalities, no arterial narrowing, no evidence of blockages or inflammation, and that all major organs were functioning normally.

AP reported that Barbabella described the MRI as “preventive” in a written memo, part of a routine executive-physical exam carried out at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in October 2025. The White House said the assessment was prudent given Trump’s age and that the results underscored his continued physical robustness.
