A US Congresswoman has called for an investigation into the source of US-made weapons used by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in the ongoing conflict in Israel. Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene Sunday asked where Hamas get the US-made weapons. She alleged the weapons could be coming from Afghanistan, where the US left a huge arsenal when it hastily pulled out in August 2021, or Ukraine, where America is currently sending weapons to fight against Russian invasion. “We need to work with Israel to track serial numbers on any U.S. weapons used by Hamas against Israel. Did they come from Afghanistan? Did they come from Ukraine? Highly likely the answer is both,” the congresswoman wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Highly likely the answer is both.
While there was evidence to confirm Greene’s allegations, Russia Today claimed that a video message from a Hamas terrorist thanking Ukraine for the weapons was doing rounds on social media. Meanwhile, the death toll in the ongoing conflict in Israel crossed 1100 on Monday, with over 700 reported killed in Israel and around 400 people in the Gaza Strip. Thousands are left injured. Fighting continued in southern Israel, as Hamas militants were believed to still infiltrating, according to local media portal Haaretz.com. The Israeli Defence Forces overnight conducted instance air strikes in Gaza, claiming to have attacked around 500 Hamas targets. The conflict began with the Hamas offensive, which began Saturday morning. First, the Palestinian militant group which operates out of Gaza, launched a heavy aerial attack on Israel with over 5000 missiles, and then it launched an incursion into southern Israel. Visuals claiming to show Hamas militants trying to infiltrate Israel via sea also went viral. While some reports suggest that the aerial attack in the wee hours of the morning was a cover for the infiltration, others suggested that both took place simultaneously. According to a Reuters report, Palestinian militants crossed into Israel as early as 7:40 am. Hamas militants attacked at least three Israeli military installations: the Erez border crossing, the Zikim base and the Gaza division headquarters at Reim. Videos posted by Hamas showed militants overrunning a military facility. It also posted videos showing captured Israeli soldiers parading through the streets of Gaza. Israel in response declared a state of war with Hamas. The Israeli Defence Forces launched operation ‘Swords of Iron’, with the Israeli Air Force bombing Hamas targets in Gaza. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to turn Hamas into “rubble.”
