Could Orlando massacre be beginning of end for Donald Trump juggernaut?

For most of us, not just Americans, every such assault like the massacre in Orlando would seem like a political plus for Donald Trump. When an Indian student killed his professor and then turned the gun upon him himself I wrote that it couldn’t suit the Republican nominee better than to have Asian and middle eastern individuals going on the rampage. I may have been wrong. It is more sinister than that. Even as Orlando comes to terms with the horror there is a niggling thought that the nightclub Pulse was targeted for its LGBT patrons at the very same time that Trump’s overt hostility to those with different sexual orientations was getting prominent coverage and there was news that he was coming into agreements with anti-LGBT forces and making no secret of it. Talk about exact timing and factor it in if you are one of those who does not believe in coincidences. Could the killer have been trying to score a point with Trump for Trump? Reuters[/caption] Yes, of course, it sounds ridiculous but then here is a candidate for presidency who wants to ban 1.6 million Muslims from entering the USA. Look at Trump’s reaction to the worst shooting in history in the country. He said, this was the beginning, more would happen, told you we should ban them. No great sign of regret for the deaths. What if the claim of a connection by Siddique, the lone gunman, to Islamic State is just grandstanding and every such gun toting potential killer is listening to a candidate who actually espouses and advocates aggression. There are so many groups to choose from. Get the wetbacks, build a wall. Stop the Latinos,they are killers and drug smugglers. Send the Asians home, put the Chinese on a plane, we don’t need any of them, take our jobs back. Don’t even talk about the Africans. And keep an eye on our minorities. Forget each of these ethnics being potential vote banks they are becoming gradual targets for those who share similar hostilities. Once a nation’s people become insecure and are clubbed into categories and pointed at as the ‘cause’ of that nation’s problems and ills, you don’t need to be too surprise in a society where guns are freely available if specific targeting becomes the next step. We see glimmers of this divisive tactic at home. Trump has a phobia about LGBTs. So did Siddique. They shared a common purpose. Again, let me repeat, keep the timing in mind. Who is the next nut job wanting to hunt down the ‘outsider’ so vividly painted with a bulls eye by Trump? Let’s please Donald, he makes sense…that is how scary it is. See what I am getting at. It is a subtle link at the moment, but you cannot walk away from the nexus between Trump’s stance on LGBTs and their being the hit. Tomorrow, God forbid someone picks on another ethnic congregation because he has heard the voice of Trump and violence will have a field day again. Between now and November, if such acts continue, America is going to realise that Donald is not the ideal icon for the land of the brave and the free. On the contrary he is the inciter of violence. His shrill rhetoric will frighten people when it ricochets off the blood drenched wall of real events. It is one thing to give speeches but when those words turn into bullets the equations become bizarre. Americans do not actually hate anyone unless they fear for themselves so those who fan these fears are actually putting their own people in danger. It cannot be forgotten that Siddique was an American listening to an American, both having a common hatred for a specific community. That is the worrying part. What if there is a pattern?
