Clash between security forces and Taliban kills nine militants in Afghanistan

Kabul: At least nine militants were killed and 12 others were injured in a clash between security forces and the Taliban in Afghanistan's Saripul and Faryab provinces, an official said on Sunday.

According to the official, four militants – including group commanders – were killed in Sayad district of Saripul province and five more insurgents lost their lives in Qaisar district of Faryab province respectively.

A total of 12 militants sustained injuries in the skirmishes which have been continuing in parts of the said districts.
