The Central Intelligence Agency’s (CIA) station inside the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia was hit by a suspected Iranian drone attack earlier this week.
According to a report by Reuters, there is no confirmation whether the CIA station was the target of the attack.
The US Embassy in Riyadh came under attack earlier this week, prompting Washington to urge Americans to flee all West Asian nations from Egypt eastward. Two drones hit the US embassy in Riyadh, sparking a quick vow by US President Donald Trump to retaliate “soon”, without elaborating how.
Trump said that the war, which began Saturday with a strike that killed Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was going “substantially” ahead of schedule but that the United States was equipped for a prolonged conflict.
“From the beginning we projected four to five weeks, but we have capability to go far longer than that,” Trump said at the White House.
A drone attack caused a fire by the US consulate in Dubai late on Tuesday as Iran ramped up its targeting of American diplomatic missions in the Gulf.
“Dubai authorities have confirmed that a fire resulting from a drone-related incident near the US Consulate has been successfully contained,” Dubai Media Office posted on X.

The US military on Wednesday said that Iran’s ability to strike back against Israeli and American attacks is “declining”. The US Central Command Chief Admiral Brad Cooper said that while Iran has launched more than 500 ballistic missiles and more than 2,000 drones, it is facing a “lingering launch capability” due to US attacks on its launchers.
“We are seeing Iran’s ability to hit us, and our partners, is declining, while our combat power, on the other hand, is building. And my overall operational assessment is that we are ahead of our game plan,” said Cooper.
