Leh/New Delhi: Chinese troops are maintaining an aggressive posture and showing no signs of retreating from the Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) sector where they have pitched their five tents and are getting regular supplies through trucks. According to reports sent to the Union Home Ministry, the Chinese side was patrolling the DBO sector, 19 KMs deep into Indian territory, refusing to end the face-off which has entered the third week. Nearly 40 PLA personnel are stationed in five tents in the area which is 70 KMs South of Burtse of DBO sector. During yesterday’s meeting, the Chinese side maintained that DBO was well in their territory and that the Indian side should leave its claim about the area. The Indian side, however, continued to press that this was in violation of the border agreement asking the PLA officials to withdraw from the area. Meanwhile, local people in Ladakh area have been found to be resentful towards, what they call, the lenient posture of Indian authorities. PTI
