CCTV footage reveals how Nairobi mall attack unfolded

Hours of CCTV footage from the Westgate mall in Nairobi, the scene of a bloody hostage drama for days, have been analysed and show how the attack unfolded.

Terrorists associated with al-Shabaab had carried out the attack in which at least 67 persons were killed in the hostage drama which lasted for four days.

Video footage obtained by CNN, shows how people were mercilessly and ruthlessly targeted by the gunmen.

The footage shows the gunmen walking beyond a children’s cooking competition and opening fire, shooting at people who were lying on the ground after being injured and rounding up hostages.

The videos show the attackers taking turns for prayers and speaking to someone over phones.
