Bomb threat grounds flights at Philadelphia airport: US FAA
A brief security alert prompted the FAA to issue a ground stop, but operations resumed about 30 minutes later once the issue was cleared.

Flights to Philadelphia International Airport were temporarily grounded on Friday after a bomb threat that officials said was swiftly resolved without incident. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a ground stop advisory shortly after 7 p.m. local time (0000 GMT), lifting it roughly 30 minutes later once the security concern had been cleared and normal operations could resume.

A police spokesperson noted that the interruption stemmed from a situation requiring assistance from the Philadelphia Police aboard a plane. The aircraft was later cleared for takeoff, enabling the ground stop to be lifted.

Similar alerts at other US airports this month

Earlier this month, several US airports faced comparable bomb threat alerts that were also resolved without incident. Operations at Reagan Washington National Airport were briefly halted in early November following a threat against a United Airlines plane, with the FBI confirming no danger. On the same day, a Delta flight at LaGuardia International Airport was evacuated before takeoff after a reported bomb threat.
