Beijing Chabad shuts down temporarily after Israeli diplomat stabbed

The Beijing Chabad said that it will shut operations in the city for the weekend under the advice of the Israeli Embassy and police after an Israeli diplomat was stabbed earlier in the day. According to reports, the diplomat, who worked in Israel’s embassy in Beijing, was attacked within the vicinity of the embassy. The Chabad said that police officials have promised protection to it for the next 24 hours. Half a dozen policemen in plain clothes have been stationed around the embassy in China in addition to the normal contingent of uniformed officers.
