As former first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama celebrates her 55th birthday on 18 January 2019, it is an Instagram post by her husband, the former president Barack Obama, that is doing the rounds on social media.
The post reads, “I knew it way back then and I’m absolutely convinced of it today — you’re one of a kind, @MichelleObama. Happy Birthday!” and the picture is a throwback to the early 1990s, taken when the couple had just gotten engaged.

Nearly a million likes, on both Instagram and Twitter, have poured in for the picture of the power couple who first met at a law firm in Chicago in the late 1980s where Michelle in fact for a time, mentored Barack who was fresh out of Harvard Law. They were married in 1992. The former FLOTUS took to Twitter to express her gratitude for all the wishes. "Feeling so incredibly thankful for my South Side roots, my soul-affirming partner and daughters, and every unimaginable twist and turn over these 55 years," she wrote.
