Bangladesh: Over 20 bodies of Sheikh Hasina's Awami League party members found amid violent protests

Bodies of at least 29 leaders of Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League leaders, associates and their family members were recovered across the Bangladesh following attacks and clashes after she resigned and fled from Dhaka on Monday.

According to a report by Dhaka Tribune, at least 10 people were killed in attacks and violence in Satkhira. Arson and looting were also reported at Satkhira Sadar and Shyamnagar police stations.

The houses and business establishments of several Awami League leaders and activists were vandalised and looted.

At least 11 people were killed in mob attacks in Comilla.

Six people, including five teenagers, were killed as the three-storey house of former councilor Md Shah Alam in Ashoktala was set on fire by a mob. Their bodies were recovered from on Monday night and Tuesday.

At least 10 people died in the fire incident. Among them, one seriously injured is in ICU.

In another incident, four people died after the house of MP Shafiqul Islam Shimul of Natore-2 (Sadar and Naldanga) Constituency was set ablaze. Their bodies were found in rooms, balconies and roofs.

The house of MP Shafiqul was set on fire after people got angry hearing the news of Hasina resigning and leaving Dhaka.

In Feni, bodies of two Juba League leaders were recovered by locals. Of them, the body of Juba League leader Mushfiqur Rahim was found under a bridge in Sonagazi Upazila. He was the office secretary of Dhalia Union Juba League.

The of Badsha Mia, another Juba League leader was found in Feni Sadar Upazila in the morning.

In Lalmonirhat, locals have recovered six bodies from the house of district AL Joint General Secretary Suman Khan. The house was set ablaze by a mob on Monday.

In Bogra, two Juba League leaders were hacked to death. The incident took place in Dirkhipara and Shajahanpur upazilas.
