A man was killed and another seriously injured in a brazen shooting outside a pub in Sydney on Sunday evening (August 18).
Police said emergency crews rushed to the Harold Park Hotel in Forest Lodge around 6.40pm after two men were gunned down by attackers who fled in a car.
A 39-year-old man died at the scene despite efforts by police, paramedics and a local doctor. The second victim, a 31-year-old man, was chased and shot multiple times before collapsing behind the hotel. He received first aid from officers and medical students before being taken to hospital, where he is in a stable condition.
Detective Superintendent Alfio Sergi condemned the ambush as an “outrageous, brazen, callous attack,” adding that a bullet narrowly missed a female staff member when it shattered a pub window.
Police are searching for a dark-coloured vehicle and have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
