Apple plans to launch entry-level iPhone SE minus home button, new iPad Air in 2025: Report

Apple is preparing to launch a new low-cost iPhone model next year, according to a report.

The news of a new model in the making for launch next year comes days after Apple launched new iPhone 16.

Bloomberg has reported that Apple is preparing to launch an updated version of iPhone SE, which has been codenamed V59, next year as an entry-level model.

The new iPhone model will also launch new iPad Air models and keyboards around the same time, according to the report.

What do we know of the new iPhone model?

The new iPhone model, an update to the iPhone SE, will not have the home button and will move to an edge-to-edge screen, according to Bloomberg.

The report said the new model will resemble the iPhone 14 with the notch cutout at the top. Currently, the iPhone SE resembles the iPhone 8.

The iPhone SE updated model is also expected to support Apple Intelligence, an upcoming suite of Apple’s artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

Why is Apple releasing updated iPhone SE?

The purpose behind the updated iPhone SE is to make the entry-level iPhone better so that more people would buy it.

Apple is aiming to attract many Android users, who cannot buy high-end Apple models because of price issues, to switch to the new updated entry-level model, according to Bloomberg.
