Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has unveiled his new Cabinet as he vowed that the new government will relentlessly protect the nation’s sovereignty. “Canadians elected this new government with a strong mandate to define a new economic and security relationship with the United States,” Carney said in a statement before his new ministers took their oaths.

Back in India, where ties with Canada have remained volatile over the Khalistan issue, the appointment of Anita Anand as the country’s new Foreign Minister has grabbed attention with speculations that this is Ottawa’s way of mending ties with New Delhi.
