In what looks to be a widespread outage, users of Meta’s Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and Messenger platforms are having trouble logging in.
On Tuesday, a number of Meta platforms experienced significant outages, according to internet traffic monitor Down Detector. The fact that people are reporting the issues everywhere raises the possibility that the outage may be worldwide.
Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Threads are the four Meta platforms that are “currently experiencing outages related to login sessions in multiple countries,” according to a statement made on X by the London-based internet monitoring company Netblocks.
However, the organization, which promotes internet freedom, claimed that there was no indication of the kind of “country-level internet disruptions or filtering” that governments usually impose.
Andy Stone, Meta’s head communications, acknowledged the issues on X, formerly known as Twitter, and said the company is “working on this now.”
