Air India suspends flights to Tel Aviv amid tension between Israel, Iran

Amid Middle East tensions, Air India said today that it will not be operating any flights to or from Tel Aviv till April 30.

New Delhi and Israel’s capital city Tel Aviv are connected by Air India with four weekly flights.

“Air India flights to and from Tel Aviv will remain suspended until 30th April 2024, in view of the emerging situation in the Middle East. We are continuously monitoring the situation,” an airline spokesperson said in a statement.

For travelers who have confirmed reservations for travel to and from Tel Aviv during this time, the airline is waiving one-time fees for rescheduling and cancellation.

The airline made the decision to temporarily halt its flights to Tel Aviv on Sunday.

Middle East tensions have increased as a result of Iran’s strikes on Israel and the subsequent reaction.

After almost five months, the carrier operated by the Tata group resumed service to the Israeli city on March 3.

Following the attack on the Israeli city by the Hamas group, on October 7, 2023, Air India ceased operating flights to and from Tel Aviv.
