Gloss, oil, stain, or tint: The difference between the many lip products

Lip glosses Lip glosses are cosmetic products designed to add shine and subtle colour to the lips.

Glosses are typically lightweight and hydrating. These can be worn alone or over lipstick for a glossy finish.

Lip oils These provide nourishment and hydration to the lips but they have a lesser shine quotient compared to glosses.

Lip oils are often infused with natural oils, some of which can help nourish your lips and create a nice, slippery finish.

Lip stains When you apply this, the product dries down and gets absorbed in the skin. This leaves behind just a wash of colour.

The colour in stains sinks into the skin instead of sitting on top of it which leads to more staying power and requires fewer applications.

Lip tints Although lip stains and tints are often used interchangeably, they are a little different in nature. Tints are more hydrating than stains.

These provide a coating to your natural lips leaving behind shiny and hydrated natural lips. It is like your lips but better.
