From Kerala to Punjab, 10 Indian states that have banned Coldrif cough syrup

Madhya Pradesh After tests confirmed Coldrif (Batch SR-13) had 48.6 per cent diethylene glycol, the MP government banned sale, distribution, stock and any Sresan Pharma products statewide.

Tamil Nadu From October 1, Tamil Nadu prohibited sale of Coldrif syrup with immediate removal from market and froze stocks at manufacturer’s plant in Kancheepuram, after link to child deaths in MP and Rajasthan.

Kerala As precaution following several deaths, Kerala has suspended the sale and distribution of Coldrif. It halted supply statewide and ordered testing of samples.

Punjab Punjab is yet another states that has banned the sale, distribution and use of Coldrif immediately after quality tests failed. All institutions, wholesalers and retailers have been directed to stop while stocks have to be reported and seized.

Goa The Goa FDA banned the sale and distribution of Coldrif syrup (batch SR-13), and urged the public to stop using it and report any stock in pharmacies or distributors.

Haryana The Health department ordered immediate withdrawal of Coldrif and similar syrup from counters, instructed test reports, warning labels and pulled batch from retail outlets.

Maharashtra State FDA banned sale, distribution and use of Coldrif syrup batch SR-13 over suspected contamination after deaths in MP and Rajasthan.

Uttar Pradesh Uttar Pradesh government directed drug inspectors to seize existing stocks of Coldrif, ordered ban of affected batch and curbed further supply after detections and alert from other states.

Rajasthan Following child deaths and test failure linked to Coldrif, state government banned the syrup’s sale, removed the product from government schemes and seized existing stocks.

Telangana The Telangana government issued a public alert urging people to stop using Coldrif syrup, asked institutions to trace and withdraw stocks and gave formal recall orders.
