Tesla faces a US lawsuit over its hiring of H-1B visa workers amid widespread American layoffs. A federal judge ruled that the electric vehicle maker must answer claims of discriminatory recruitment practices that allegedly favoured lower-paid foreign workers over US citizens, Reuters reported. The complaint stated that Tesla hired at least 1,355 employees on H-1B visas while laying off more than 6,000 staff, most of them American citizens.
